Very
musical, nice singing sound, wide colour palette, he rightly recognised that it
is quasi una fantasia.
Beethoven - Sonata Op. 106
Clemens Goldberg – Kulturradio Berlin
The head-movement of Beethoven‘s Sonata became in so far exemplary,
as the vigorous brilliance beneficially took the distance from the estatic sound of the Arietta of the second and final movement.
Beethoven - Sonata Op. 111
Rheinische Post
This musician has bridled his horses with controlled sensuality
and appropriate art of the pedal and lead them over the course with perfect turns…
The public owned Simone Gragnani, who was performing with the appropriate reserve,
an undisputably elegant interpretation of this work. It is redundant to say that he is a virtuoso!
Rachmaninow Piano-Concerto No. 2
Schaffhauser Nachrichten
Thank to the exemplar phrasing and the cantabile melody-moulding it was a pleasure for the listener.
Sometimes recalling Beethoven, it is a work with a tragic-dramatic character
and with an intense expression which demands a vigourous and declamatory rendering – Gragnani provided it exemplary.
Clementi – Sonate Op. 8 No.2 – Op. 50 No.3
Simone Gragnani inspired with a brilliant Liszt-rendering…
If in Liszt we generally admire the vigorous „grabbing“,
here it was his reserved-lightness which fascinated and which – as you know – only sounds as it were light.
Liszt – Vallée d‘Oberman
Rheinische Post
It is clear that with this Beethoven he wanted to show something
completely different from the ebullient or exagerated virtuosity.
Light like fog he moved from the intertwined cadence and insinuated the following simplicity of the second movement,
which he performed with proud imperturbability.
With his conscious, never redoundant playing he showed how close this music is from the 18th century.
In the 3rd movement you let carry yourself away by Gragnani‘s passionated upbeat:
the consequence was a flirty interplay right down the line.
A pink loop probably lays on Gragnani‘s virtuosity.
Yet, it does not brake, on the contrary it shows the beauty of the musical text and not the assumed vanity of a performer.
Beethoven – Klavierkonzert Nr. 3
Aarauer Nachrichten
A joung certainty in the international classic music world
astonishing the matching of youth and maturity in this pianist with enormous technical and intellectual resources
he modulates the intimate meditation with sound-mastery,
colouring the sound with crepuscular shadings,
so that the contrasts weaken between tenderness and melancholy.
Brahms – Phantasien Op. 116
With his confident and round, sometimes very tender or refined touch,
Gragnani emphasizes the play of metamorphosis and he extrapolates a kaleidoscope of images and emotions,
which the music evokes and outlines with pure contours.
Ravel – Miroirs
The hands of the pianist create sounds of magic shine in a whirling crescendo,
in a phantastic swirl which produces the effect of the tragic fatality.
The carrying along and passionate performance of this piece wonderfully seals Gragnani‘s rendering maturity
and testifies the completeness of his technical research, synthesis of natural inclination and of untiring, passionate devotion.
Ravel – La Valse
Il Verbano
Exécution magistrale de la Sonate de Liszt
La Presse Française
Research of expression, a way of telling the score in a completely new way
